UW Men & Women Win Friday

The UW men picked up a win over Alaska Anchorage 3-2 in overtime. Going into the game I had the feeling that some of the young guys might be ready to "pick it up" on the offensive end, and that proved to be the case. UW was powered by regulation goals by Blake Geoffrion and Mike Davies, with Matt Ford getting the overtime game winner. Alaska Anchorage was led by Paul Crowder, who should not be a mystery to the UW Coaching Staff. He was a teammate of Kyle Turris' with the BCHL's Burnaby Express last season. Crowder had both goals for the Seawolves.

The big question for the men tonight is whether or not Shane Connelly will get the start.

The UW Women downed Minnesota State 3-1. Angie Keseley, Kyla Sanders and Meaghan Mikkelson all scored for the Badgers who hold sole possession of the WCHA lead and are ranked number one in the country. Their school-record unbeaten streak now stands at 23 games.
