Craig Smith to UW Confirmed; Three Potential Recruits Visited in Last 3 Days

Todd Milewski has confirmed that Craig Smith has committed to play for UW beginning in either 2008 or 2009, depending on his development. I'd also guess it will depend on how many spots UW has to fill, as they seem "overbooked" at forward already for 2008, barring mass early defections to the NHL or elsewhere.

Andy Baggot has also confirmed the commitment from Craig Smith. He also mentions that center Jan-Mikael Juutilainen visited in the last three days, as did Joe Marciano, a 16-year old defenseman from the USNTDP and Steven Spinell, a 16-year old defenseman with Team Illinois. Juutilainen was in Green Bay over the weekend to play against the Green Bay Gamblers, so it would seem his recruiting visit tied in with that trip.

It is interesting to note that there is no indication that Brett Bruneteau, who plays with Jan-Mikael Juutilainen on the Omaha Lancers, made a visit to UW during his one trip to the state of Wisconsin this season.
