It looks like Lakeland's girls hockey team has been sanctioned by the WIAA. Unfortunately, it was not done in time for them to compete for the state title this season.

Potential UW recruit Derek Lee scored a goal for Team Canada West yesterday at the World Junior Challenge, but it wasn't enough as they fell to Russia 4-2. Team USA notched a 3-2 victory over Team Canada East. Barry Almeida again had the game-winner for Team USA. Blake Kessel had a hand in every goal scoring one himself, and assisting on the two others. Team USA and Russia automatically advance to the Semifinals on Saturday by virtue of their victories.
