USHL Friday & Saturday Recaps

Friday
Cedar Rapids blanked Green Bay 4-0 in Green Bay. Ryan Little finished even for the Gamblers.

Sioux City took care of Lincoln 5-2 in Lincoln. Travis Erstad was -1 for Lincoln while teammate Ross Henry was even.

Waterloo edged Tri-City 3-2 at Tri-City. Craig Smith scored the first goal of the game on an assist by Keegan Meuer for Waterloo. They both finished +1 along with Blake Kessel. Teammates Scott Pavelski and Brock Montpetit finished even. Defenseman Kyle Ensign was even for Tri-City while his teammate Chris Hicky, a UW recruit, finished -1.

In Chicago, the Steel handled Sioux Falls 8-5. Aaron Schmit was not active for the Steel. Eric Springer had a goal for the Stampede but finished -2. Jake Drewiske was -1 for Sioux Falls while teammate Sam Zabkowicz had a goal and finished -1.

Saturday
Indiana claimed victory over Ohio in Indiana by way of a shootout. Forward Justin Cseter had a goal for Ohio and was -1 while forward Brent Gwidt of Indiana was even.

Des Moines got the best of Lincoln in Des Moines 4-1. Ross Henry was even for Lincoln and teammate Travis Erstad was -1.

Omaha destroyed Sioux City 7-1 in Omaha. Matt Thurber had an even strength goal and an assist and finished +1 for Omaha while Jake Hauswirth was not active for the Lancers.

Sioux Falls doubled up Chicago 6-3. Aaron Schmit was not active for Chicago. Jake Drewiske had a goal for Sioux Falls, while teammate Eric Springer had an assist. Springer finished +3, Drewiske +1 while teammate Sam Zabkowicz was held off the scoresheet and finished even.
