Ohio edged Green Bay 5-4 in a shootout. Justin Cseter finished with an assist and was +1 for Ohio while Ryan Little had an assist and was even for the game.

Lincoln got past Des Moines 3-2 in regulation. Ross Henry finished +2 for Lincoln while teammate Travis Erstad was +1.

Matt Thurber continued his pre-season run of short-handed goals into the first game of the regular season as Omaha downed Tri-City 4-2. Thurber had the short-handed goal and was +2 while teammate Jake Hauswirth was +1. For Tri-City, Chris Hickey had an assist but was -3 and teammate Kyle Ensign was also -3.

Cedar Rapids dominated Chicago 7-2. Defenseman Aaron Schmit from Wisconsin was not active for Chicago.
