Friday in the USHL

Sioux Falls edged Omaha 4-3. UW recruits Matt Thurber and Garrett Suter both had assists for Omaha in the losing effort. UW recruit Scott Gudmandson did not start in net for Omaha after his poor outing last night, but ended up entering the game in the third period after his counterpart had let in 4 goals on 17 shots. Gudmandson was able to play the last 15 minutes without allowing a goal on 8 shots.

Sioux City downed Tri-City 4-1.

Lincoln put up a touchdown to beat Des Moines 7-4. Patrick Johnson continues to play for Lincoln, and notched a goal in this game. Potential UW recruit Jason Gregiore remains out of the lineup for Lincon, and has only played 4 games this season.

Waterloo let Cedar Rapids know that turnabout is fair play. After losing 3-2 to Cedar Rapids in Waterloo Thursday, Waterloo defeated Cedar Rapids 4-3 at their rink to once again pull away from them for the East Division lead.

Defenseman Derrick LaPoint had an assist and the game-winning overtime goal just 28 seconds into the extra frame as Green Bay got past Chicago 3-2.

Indiana needed overtime to overcome Ohio 4-3.
