UW Men & Women Roll to Friday Night Wins

The UW Men's Hockey Team began their 2006-2007 in proper fashion with a 3-0 shutout of Northern Michigan at the Resch Center in Green Bay. The Badgers were powered by diminuitive newcomer Mike Davies who notched the first two goals of his career, Tom Gorowsky and Matt Ford who each had three assists, and a goal by Davis Drewiske. Brian Elliott was a stone wall in net stopping all 23 shots. It's good to see the third line get off to a great start, especially as none of UW's other lines could light the lamp. Tom Gorowsky had more points in this game than he did all of last season.

The UW Women advanced their record to 3-0 on the season with an 8-2 win over St. Cloud State. The women have now won 15 games in a row dating back to last season. Eagle River native Jinelle Zaugg had a hat trick and an assist in the game, while linemate Sara Bauer had two goals and a playmaker.
