Wisconsinites at the Buc Bowl

The USHL season got underway yesterday at the Buc Bowl. At last count there were 22 Wisconsinites in the USHL, although I discovered that Adam Hammerbeck, who has been with Alexandria in the NAHL, is currently on Waterloo's roster, and Luke Lucyk is on Tri-City's roster.

There were not a lot of Wisconsinites or UW recruits that had good games yesterday, at least on the scoresheet. UW recruit Scott Gudmandson let in 5 goals on 30 shots, and Omaha lost in a shootout with 2 of 4 shooters beating Gudmandson. Kyle Ensign was -2 in Tri-City's loss to Green Bay. There were a few exceptions, however. Keegan Meuer, Craig Smith and Blake Kessel all notched goals for Waterloo in their victory over Sioux City. Mike Sislo had a goal for Green Bay in their 5-2 win over Tri-City and defenseman Derrick LaPoint was +1 in the game. Patrick Tiesling scored a goal, with an assist going to Sam Zabkowicz in Sioux Falls' loss to Indiana. Luke Lucyk had an assist in Tri-City's game.
